Vocational training in certain occupations in Germany is linked to recognition of professional qualifications. These professions are called regulated professions. Medical professions, for example, are regulated (doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists, etc.) Legal professions or teachers.
For citizens from so-called third countries (not EU countries) an individual examination of the equivalence of the professional qualification by the competent recognition authorities of the federal state in Germany is required, as there are different training contents in the individual countries.
